For GLOW, architect Peter Brdenk has opted for a combination of lighting techniques. The prominent eave overhang of a stately building from 1924 is illuminated with spotlights. In several other locations, namely the semicircular, natural stone frames of the entrance and the columns of the indoor balcony directly above it, light accents have been added. This draws extra attention to the most remarkable elements of this municipal monument.
About the artist
Architect Peter Brdenk uses light in various ways. He designs standalone light objects that can be attached to or integrated into existing buildings, but also large-scale projects where the appearance of a building is completely transformed by illuminating the exterior with bright spotlights or LEDs.
