Give app access to location - Android

First make sure that GPS is turned on, you can do this in the quick menu:

  • Place your finger at the top of the screen and swipe down. Repeat this again.
  • The shortcut menu opens. Swipe from right to left on the quick menu to view more options. Do this until ‘Location’ is displayed.
  • When the location service is turned on, the icon above ‘Location’ is blue. Tap the icon to turn the option on or off.

 

Then follow the steps below:

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Apps.
  • Tap an app (choose the browser app you use to open the route, for example Chrome).
  • Tap Permissions.
  • Tap Location.
  • Choose Allow only when using app to give the app access to the location.
  • Tap the arrow at the top left to go back.

Is GPS already on? If you’re not sure, follow the steps below:

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Privacy & Security.
  • TapĀ Location Services.
  • If the slider behind ‘Location Services’ is green, the function is on. If necessary, tap the slider to adjust the setting.

 

Then follow the steps below:

  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Privacy & Security.
  • TapĀ Location Services.
  • At the bottom of the page is a list of apps that use Location Services. Behind the name of the app you can see when the app uses the location. Choose the browser app you use to open the route (for example Chrome). The options are ‘Never’, ‘When sharing’, ‘When used’ or ‘Always’. Tap an app to adjust the setting.
  • Under ‘Allow location access’, tap the option you want.
