Switch never offers the same experience. Where you just seemed to be looking at a fire full of flames, now butterflies appear to flutter away, and insects buzz around energetically. The image changes by the second. It is an interplay of light and darkness.   

And all of this is made possible by you as a visitor. At Switch, you are not just a spectator; you are also a creator. Together with dozens of others, you move through the light installation, deciding for yourself where and when to flip a light switch on or off. This allows Switch to display countless expressions, making it a unique experience for everyone. As a visitor, you have the chance to leave your mark by playing with the switches. Where your game ends, another’s begins.   

Over 1200 light switches in RGB ensure that energy flies back and forth between left and right. This constant movement is precisely what brings Switch—and GLOW—to life. Energy is the invisible force that makes the light festival glow. In the form of electricity that powers the light installations, but especially the tangible energy of all the visitors who come together along the route and GLOW together. With this mindset, artist Jan Boiten, network operator Enexis and GLOW joined forces to make energy tangible for hundreds of thousands of visitors. The second year of the partnership once again shows: With energy, anything is possible!
