Eindhoven’s first-ever drone experience at Philips Stadium marks the start of GLOW 2026

Eindhoven, 4 November 2026 – From Saturday 7 to Saturday 14 November, GLOW 2026 will bring around thirty light art installations to Eindhoven under the theme CONNECT. The main highlight is Eindhoven’s first-ever drone experience: The Breathing Collective by TWOFIFTYK at Philips Stadium. From the stands, visitors will experience drones, light and sound at close range. The approximately five-kilometre route through Eindhoven also takes visitors past a projection made with LEGO bricks on Markt square and a collaborative light artwork created by thousands of children in St Catherine’s Church. Best, Helmond, Laarbeek, Oirschot and Veldhoven will also present their own routes, featuring around fifty light artworks in total.

This is the first edition of GLOW under the leadership of director Philip Ross: “Together with our partners, we have once again been able to create innovative and surprising light artworks in Eindhoven and the surrounding region. I am very proud of that. CONNECT is not only the theme of this edition; it also describes how GLOW comes to life. We bring artists, residents, schools, businesses and municipalities together.”

From individual to collective

At Philips Stadium, Eindhoven-based design studio TWOFIFTYK presents The Breathing Collective. Drone shows are usually watched outdoors and from a distance, but during this fifteen-minute experience, audiences in the stands are close to the choreography of drones, stadium lighting and sound.

The performance begins with a few points of light finding their way through the darkness. Gradually, more points of light appear, each representing an individual. They come together, move apart, collide and find a shared rhythm once again. This creates a collective that is constantly changing shape. The connection between the individual points of light and the moving whole is a direct expression of the CONNECT theme.

The Breathing Collective takes place every evening at 6.30 pm, 7.15 pm, 8.00 pm and 8.45 pm. Tickets cost €2, excluding booking fees, and are available via the website.

Light art throughout the city centre

Beyond the stadium, the route showcases a variety of forms of light art. On Markt square, Captain Energy presents BRICK, in which a LEGO brick grows into an ever-changing world of light, rhythm and movement. The artwork is made possible by the LEGO Group and celebrates play and imagination.

In the new Victoriapark, visitors can discover From Spark to Life by Hermes Mangialardo. Moving light surrounding the statue of Gerard Philips illustrates how a small spark, a simple idea, can grow into innovation. On the 55-metre-high façade of the Hooghuis building, TRIPLE POINT by Antoine Goldschmidt of studio Magicstreet transforms mist, lasers and colour into an innovative light artwork that appears to be constantly moving.

The route forms a circular walk of approximately five kilometres, connecting different parts of the city, from the new Victoriapark to the historic Vonderkwartier neighbourhood, which is part of the GLOW route for the first time this year.

16,000 children contribute to Fabellicht

For Fabellicht by Hugo Vrijdag, 16,000 children from the region have taken part in an educational programme since September. Through a drawing assignment and a three-dimensional craft project, they have created stories, drawings and spiral-shaped lanterns.

During GLOW, selected drawings, stories and lanterns come together in a shadow play at St Catherine’s Church. The high ceilings, pillars and dark interior provide the setting in which the children’s imaginary worlds come to life through light and shadow.

Fabellicht connects Eindhoven with the surrounding region: contributions from children in all five participating municipalities are also part of the project.

GLOW across the region

This connection can be felt throughout the region. GLOW can also be experienced in Best, Oirschot, Veldhoven, Laarbeek and Helmond, each with its own route. Together, these municipalities present more than fifty light artworks, combining (inter)national highlights with local creations. Stories, schools, artists, partners, residents and visitors all come together along the way.

In Veldhoven, a familiar crowd favourite returns: the illuminated sunflowers previously seen during GLOW in Eindhoven. At De Plaatse, dozens of lanterns come together to form a sea of sunflowers inspired by Vincent van Gogh. Helmond also has a striking centrepiece: the spectacular projection Dystopia by ONDA Studio, which visitors can experience on the castle. Oirschot opts for colour with Daniel Margraf’s immersive Dive into a Sea of Colours. In Best, interaction takes centre stage, with no fewer than two interactive artworks by OCUBO. And in Laarbeek, nature is the focus: a projection by Cindy Lo invites visitors to see the world through a child’s eyes.

In this way, CONNECT represents not only the connections within Eindhoven, but also those between the city and the wider region.

The digital routes and information about all the artworks can be found on the GLOW website.
