Eindhoven, 28 September 2026 – During GLOW 2026, the Philips Stadium will provide the setting for eight evenings of drones, light, sound and music. From 7 to 14 November, Eindhoven-based design studio TWOFIFTYK will present The Breathing Collective: a fifteen-minute choreography created specifically for the stadium. Four times each evening, the stadium will be transformed into a work of light art, experienced by audiences from close range. Tickets are available from 28 September via gloweindhoven.nl/tickets.

While drones are usually viewed from a distance, The Breathing Collective brings the audience up close. From the stands, at eye level with the drones, visitors experience their movements in combination with light and sound. This setting, with drones flying within the enclosed environment of a stadium, sets the work apart from a traditional drone show. It places visitors right in the middle of the interplay between light and movement.

Sjors van den Boogaart, Director of the Philips Stadium, says: “We are delighted that Eindhoven’s first light artwork featuring drones will be presented here. During GLOW, we are opening the stadium to a broad audience, including people who might not normally visit. For a moment, the Philips Stadium becomes a place where people can experience light and art together.”

From individual to collective

The Breathing Collective explores the relationship between the individual and the group. A single point of light finds its way through the darkness, followed by an increasing number of points of light. They move towards one another, drift apart, collide and eventually find a shared rhythm again. A collective emerges that is constantly changing and searching for a new balance.

The work connects with CONNECT, the theme of GLOW 2026, which focuses on the connections between people, technology and their surroundings.

Marijn Vos, Art Director at TWOFIFTYK, says: “With The Breathing Collective, we don’t simply want to make drones fly. We are creating a world in which points of light behave like living individuals. The Philips Stadium gives us the scale and setting to fully immerse visitors in that world.”

Eindhoven’s history of light comes together

The Philips Stadium’s intelligent lighting system, supplied by Signify, is also part of the project. Four performances each evening

The Breathing Collective will be presented four times each evening from 7 to 14 November, at 18:30, 19:15, 20:00 and 20:45. Each performance lasts approximately fifteen minutes. Tickets cost €2 and are available from 28 September at 11:00 via gloweindhoven.nl/tickets.

GLOW advises visitors to purchase their tickets in advance to secure a place. Tickets can be changed free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the performance, subject to availability.
