A colorful, rotating flower slowly opening and closing. From a distance, it appears to be an organic whole—until you step closer. What catches your eye about this Flower?
Artist Uif Putters is fascinated by the boundary between technology and nature, an interest that finds a distinctive expression in Flower. Light and motion reinforce one another, as shifting light patterns continuously bring new forms into being. At times the structure resembles a machine; at others, a living organism. Flower illustrates how the interplay of simple mechanical movements can generate something organic. The work holds a unique allure, undeniably sparking the imagination—so that as you continue on your way after experiencing it, you carry a small sense of wonder with you.
About the artist
Uif Putters creates kinetic light installations where technology, movement, and light converge. In his work, geometric structures and simple motions evolve into ever-changing, almost organic patterns. He designs, builds, and programs his installations entirely himself, treating mechanics and light not as separate parts, but as a single, moving whole.
