Het Karkas

Het Karkas

Today only a skeleton remains of the former Philips HCZ building on the Vonderweg. The bleached bones of the structure sometimes – as the night falls – come mysteriously to life. The bones dance in the dark to the notes from the electronic xylophone…

The music is based on the work “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saëns. Sound artist Rob van Rooy drew inspiration from the Eindhoven composer Dick Raaijmakers, alias “Kid Baltan”.

The project has been made possible in part through the supply of LED modules and corresponding equipment by the company “Rena Electronica”. Technical support in the programming of the lighting system for “The Carcass” came from the company “Smart Light”.

About the artist

Har Hollands & Kees Bos

Sometimes, the artist duo Har Hollands & Kees Bos treads uncertain territory of light art. Some of the executed light artworks are: the illumination of temples and pyramids in Egypt, the work of art ‘Made in Germany’ for ‘Lichtrouten Lüdenscheid’ in Germany. And not to forget the intersection ‘Metropolux’ and light artwork ‘Weeping Willows’ at former GLOW editions.
