Inkijkmuseum
It brings light into the darkness, yet it is not a source of light. What could it be? That’s right: hope. And that is exactly what artist Martin Voorbij has been collecting for decades, all around the world, stories of strength, dreams, and the desire for a better future, gathered into colorful works created by both professional and amateur artists.
The Inkijkmuseum is Eindhoven’s smallest museum, located in the old Washhouse along the Dommel River. Take a peek inside: the walls are full of art. With his project Show Your Hope, Martin visited five continents and over forty countries in the past twenty years. He has exhibited the artworks he collected in a wide range of places, from conferences and refugee centers to schools, music festivals, private homes, and the streets. And now also here, at the Inkijkmuseum.
When you gaze through the windows, it can feel almost overwhelming, so many stories imagined by so many people. At the same time, it invites reflection. What do you hope for? And how would you express that hope? Feel free to share your hope with us on social media using the hashtag #GLOW25. In doing so, you’ll help the Inkijkmuseum’s collection continue to grow, also online. Will you join in?
