Keyframes

Dozens of human figures in various postures, built with LED tubes, light up one by one. As each figure appears, the suggestion of movement is evoked. Each figure marks a moment in a nighttime narrative or dance. A specially composed soundtrack accompanies the light images.

Keyframes was created in 2011 for the Fête des lumières in Lyon, France, and has since traveled all over the world. Before coming to Eindhoven, it was seen in Singapore and Jerusalem.

About the artist

Groupe LAPS

Groupe LAPS consists of six artists and designers with experience in film, lighting technology, and multimedia applications. Together, they developed Keyframes, a work at the intersection of film and sculpture.
