At night the branches of the trees are playfully and mystically highlighted, ostensibly by some millions of fireflies hovering around in mid-air. The green and red points of the lasers create dynamic lines on each surface they touch, which is a joy to capture on camera. It is the natural effect of the wind and the laser movements that provide the floating lights with life, as they dance around the trees.

About the artist

Troy Reugebrink & Wisse Trooster

Lucio Linea has been developed by Troy Reugebrink and Wisse Trooster from byLight, working on a project for Openlight, which is the creative lab of TU/e’s Intelligent Lighting Institute. They did research in how light can influence the experience of public spaces, and did so in collaboration with Light Architecht Har Hollands.

Music by Martijn Simkens: having been active for years as a session guitarist for Dutch artists such as Loïs Lane, Van Velzen and Laura Janzen, Martijn Simkens currently produces for artists, commercials and his own repertoire. Furthermore, he teaches at the MBO music education, RockCity Institute (Klokgebouw, Eindhoven). He himself studied at the Rock Academy in Tilburg where he graduated in 2008.
