Magical Garden

Especially for GLOW, the Finnish light artist Kari Kola has developed a 360-degrees light object titled ‘Magical Garden’. For this edition, he deliberately chose a bleak parking area. By using light art and soundscape – an analogy of sound and landscape indicating the acoustic environment – , he transforms the area into a magical wonderland. The green areas are highlighted and enhanced by this artist. “I want to create as great a contrast as possible to the original state of this area in order to bring out a completely new environment”, says Kari Kola.

Go ahead, enter the site and immerse yourself in the mystical atmosphere. This work of art will be integrated with the food court, which is also located here.

About the artist

Kari Kola

The Finnish Light Artist Kari Kola has designed and implemented lighting for all sorts of operas, musicals, plays, concerts, landscapes, festivals and dance productions. Next to this, Kola developed various outdoor light installations, designed multi-channel soundscapes and taught in different disciplines of lighting.

Kola specializes in combining different forms of art within his creations. Creating large outdoor light installations, however, remains Kari Kola’s greatest passion and is in fact his main expertise.
