About the artist
Dirk van Poppel & Jan Fabel
Dirk van Poppel and Jan Fabel both started their career in their beloved Eindhoven. As they grew up, the Lichttoren became a beacon of light: a source of light. Nowadays, they both work in the field of design, light and video projection. In the ‘80’s, their passionate career started by initiating ‘Video Cyclope’ at artist center De Fabriek. Video artists investigated the boundaries of the possibilities of video. And until today, this is still their main goal.
Searching for those boundaries what light images can do, to create something that seems impossible at first… and against all odds bring it to life. Images that where in the back of their minds for years, to make them tangible and use them to tell a story.
