You know how it goes: you create a beautiful plan, but in practice things turn out just a little differently. Not a problem—sometimes that even leads to something better than you could have imagined from behind your desk. Still, there are plans that leave no room for deviation. Sometimes because safety is at stake, or because it concerns a series of products that all need to look exactly the same. The calculations are made, the drawings are on paper: this is it, and nothing else.

Construction is one of those sectors where plans are followed to the letter. Or… at least, that’s the idea. In the past, things sometimes turned out differently. A contractor might place a window, door, or ornament just slightly differently than the architect had drawn. Was it playful stubbornness, or a practical adjustment based on expertise? We’ll never know. Pronorm overlays the blueprint of Veldhoven’s Station Building onto the actual structure. The differences are impossible to miss. How many can you spot?
