Hey there! Have you looked at the stars today, the moon, or… the cursor?

Nature is the source of all the light we celebrate at GLOW. How magical is the spectacle taking place above us? Clouds break, absorb, and scatter the city lights. Stars twinkle high in the sky, joined by the moon. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a shooting star. Or was that a plane?

More and more, our gaze is fixed downward—on brightly lit screens, the road ahead, the places we rush toward. Understandable, but also a shame. It narrows our perspective on what makes the world so extraordinary.

Light artist Ivo Schoofs humorously reminds us to look up at all the beauty above. Join in! Are the stars and moon visible tonight? Or is there a thick blanket of clouds? How are the shapes shifting? The most spectacular screensaver of all is right above you.

This year, we celebrate twenty years of GLOW. You might remember Cursor from 2021. Another of Ivo Schoofs’ works, Large Pendulum Wave, is also on display at the Anne Frank Park—definitely worth a visit! Which artwork will be your favorite?
