From Waste to Wonder

Imagine walking past the well known cube houses of Helmond after sunset. The lights are on and the curtains are open. What do you see? Students from the Jan van Brabant College asked themselves that question. Together they created seven astonishing illuminated viewing cubes, each with its own story. Feel free to stop and take a look at the glowing cubes because the scenes inside them rotate. Each cube tells a different story and together they form one bright point of light.

The name of the art project is no coincidence. From Waste to Wonder. The cubes and the scenes inside them are made from waste materials. Something that seems worthless is transformed into something meaningful. At the same time the cubes tell personal stories that connect to the emotions and experiences of the makers themselves. They challenge visitors to give their own interpretation and to ask themselves what these stories and materials mean to them. So be welcome, take a look and experience it.
