Glisssssendo

Glisssssendo

“Glissando” is a term from music and can be interpreted as the sliding from one note to another. Nine figures in long black robes, with self-designed instruments and headpieces with fire, perform music by artists such as Philip Glass and Michael Nyman. These contemporary compositions are far from traditional brass band music. The endless sequences of sounds and minimal developments in melody and harmony perfectly complement the magical ballet of the instrumentalists.

About the artist

Ulik et le SNOB

Equipped with the necessary technical knowledge, as well as a considerable amount of creativity and ingenuity, Ulik develops a construction that allows musicians to glide across the ground.

With suitable costumes and choreography, he turns a performance by the fanfare Le SNOB into a magical production. SNOB stands for Service de Nettoyage des Oreilles Bouches, or Cleaning Service for Clogged Ears, and the group has been active since 1994.
