Light Being

“Light Being” consists of moving sculptures almost entirely composed of laser beams. In the misty environment, the immaterial light seems to take tangible forms. The light beams are programmed to mimic the movement of animals. The virtual beings curiously explore their surroundings and actively seek interaction with the audience.

The backdrop for “Light Being” is an abandoned cinema on Nieuwe Emmasingel. The brand-new, glossy materials, together with the mist, give the space an otherworldly appearance. The luminous animals seem to feel at home in this surreal habitat.
