MACHINA | BOBOLITO&Co

Het College, Eindhoven

Your face reflected in the mirrored material above Het College? You bet! At least, if you submitted a selfie and a voice message. You and 999 others will then become part of this GLOW artwork, MACHINA by BOBOLITO&Co, a work that revolves entirely around you, around us, around the community we create together. This light installation invites us to smile, explore, look and listen. And all of this takes place in a central location in Eindhoven: a street where we come together, on foot or by bike, and set off on adventures throughout the city.

The play of light across the thousand faces, including yours, creates ever changing reflections, shadows and encounters between the individual forms. During the day, the installation is activated by sunlight. In the evening, it transforms into a light artwork that puts the public space and its many smiling faces in the spotlight. Let yourself be carried away by the cheerful babbling and murmuring, and go in search of that one familiar face: your neighbour, colleague, grandpa, teacher or even yourself. Ready to explore and join in?

MACHINA is made possible by Friends of GLOW

How can you participate?

From 4 September to 18 october, everyone is invited to take part. Submit your selfie and voice and see yourself and others become part of MACHINA, the light installation on display from 7–14 November 2026.

Using the specially developed app, you upload your selfie. Your selfie is then transformed into a clean vector line drawing. Based on this design, your face is cut from plexiglass as an abstract portrait with a unique engraved identification number. You will receive an email with this unique code, which allows you to collect your portrait after GLOW and take it home as a lasting keepsake. Once BOBOLITO&Co has converted your selfie, your original photo will of course be deleted.

Your face tells part of your story, now let your voice join in too. When submitting your selfie, you can also record a short voice message. What does connection mean to you? What brings you closer to others? Share it in one word or a short sentence. For example: laughing or crying together, dancing to music, being part of a team, or simply being there for each other. Your voice may become part of the soundscape surrounding MACHINA during GLOW.

On Sunday, 15 November, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, you can collect your portrait at Het College. Bring the unique code from your email and take home a tangible reminder of the artwork.
