Under the influence of the light, the trees appear monumental and dramatic in the otherwise predominantly dark surroundings. Additionally, a projection with numerous white spots is directed onto the trees, slowly moving over the bare branches. They resemble birds that have settled in the park’s trees during their migration.
The artist originally created this piece for the Arbres et Lumières festival in Geneva, where it was showcased on Île Rousseau, a small island where the Rhône River flows into Lake Geneva. The island is named after Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the scientist and philosopher from Geneva. It also serves as a bird sanctuary.
