People. Big and small. Young and old. On an enormous scale, yet each completely themselves. You see them, up close. And they seem to see you, too. With all their movements, unique and distinct. Preserved forever in Motus Mori, choreographer Katja Heitmann’s fascinating movement archive.
No matter how much we might wish it: we humans are not immortal. That reality fascinates Heitmann. And so, for several years now, she has been recording human movement—so that it is not lost. Today, more than 2,500 people of all ages, bodies, and backgrounds have donated to this unique archive. In the artwork Perpetuum, you meet these recognizable people up close for the first time. You look them in the eye and hear the stories behind their movements. In a sea of light, your own personal movement becomes visible as well. Look, listen, and feel—you are unique, and at the same time, part of a larger whole.
