This 90-meter long work of art is designed by Daan Roosegaarde. The artist (and innovator) got inspired by night charts of the earth, on which light sources make the presence of humankind visible. Imagine yourself in space with a walk across this interactive play of light.
SPACE is located in the old passage of Eindhoven Central Station and is part of the station renovation by ProRail, Heijmans and Arcadis.The artwork was commissioned by the Municipality of Eindhoven, ProRail and NS (National Dutch Railways) to enhance the experience of the restored passenger tunnel.
About the artist
Daan Roosegaarde is internationally well known for his social designs. With his team of designers and engineers from Studio Roosegaarde, he works on designs that improve the relationship between man, technology and space. Interaction, innovation and beauty are the focal points in what he describes as “techno poetry”
The permanent light artworks from GLOW are also included in the LUCI Light & Art Map. This map offers residents and visitors alike the opportunity to explore the captivating world of light art installations in the open public space. The map not only showcases the beauty of light art but also fosters a global community of enthusiasts for these art pieces while providing visibility to artists on an international stage
