Sint-Odulphuskerk
Light connects us, regardless of our background or origin. This is precisely the message that the Portuguese artist collective OCUBO conveys with their light installation Spiritus. With this work, one of the highlights of GLOW 2025, they invite us as spectators to pause, reflect and reconnect with something greater than ourselves. A message that perfectly suits the location where Spiritus is presented: the Sint-Odulphus Church. Take a seat in the pews and allow the work to unfold.
Experiencing Spiritus feels calming, almost spiritual. Universal themes are expressed through an abstract, visual language. You will recognise elements from nature, sacred geometry and the cycle of life. Together, these motifs represent transformation, reflection and connection. The audiovisual experience completely draws you in. If you open your senses to it, you will discover space for silence and contemplation. What does it evoke in you?
During GLOW 2025, you can see the work of this renowned Portuguese collective at two locations. In Best, Spiritus can be experienced in the intimate setting of the Sint-Odulphus Church. Another work by OCUBO can be seen on the rear facade of Helmond Castle. Spiritus lasts approximately 20 minutes and can be experienced at scheduled times.
