Helmond Castle
Light connects us, regardless of our background or origin. This is the underlying message of Spiritus, a work by the Portuguese collective OCUBO. With this work, one of the highlights of GLOW 2025, they invite us as spectators to pause, reflect and reconnect with something greater than ourselves. How fitting to experience this at Helmond Castle, a place so deeply rooted in the history and present of this city. The light installation lasts approximately 20 minutes and can be seen at scheduled times on the rear side of the castle.
Experiencing Spiritus feels calming and timeless. Universal themes are expressed through an abstract, visual language. You will recognise elements from nature, sacred geometry and the cycle of life. Together, these motifs represent transformation, reflection and connection. The audiovisual experience draws you in completely. If you open your senses to it, you will discover space for silence and contemplation. What does this work evoke in you?
During GLOW 2025, you can see the work of this renowned Portuguese collective at two locations. In Helmond, Spiritus is presented on the rear side of the castle. Take your time and allow the work to unfold. In Best, you can experience Spiritus inside the Sint-Odulphus Church.
