Transcendent Flow

Transcendent Flow

Symmetrical, colorful patterns glide horizontally and at a tranquil pace across the walls and vaults, fully integrated with the architecture of the church and its numerous decorative details. The images are harmoniously accompanied by music from Leon Boëllmann, Samuel Barber, and Olivier Messiaen. The motifs that recur in the patterns are recognizable or abstracted, referencing symbolic elements from organic and non-organic nature.

We recognize water, vineyards, gold, and gemstones. In the piece, the artist duo also showcases 3D images created using a special method they call Digital Decalcomania. This involves using spectrograms of sound and light, creating an intense sensory experience.

Transcendent Flow seamlessly aligns with the theme of ‘City in Motion.’ But there’s more: a church is a place where people come to take a step back from the bustling world, seeking meaning, new energy, and a perspective for the future. Thus, regardless of specific beliefs, Transcendent Flow offers the audience a chance to be carried away in the movement of the city.
