Weeping Willows

Weeping Willows

Along the Dommel River, there is a group of weeping willows. These trees are characterized by their drooping branches, almost touching the water’s surface. Hollands and Bos have projected condensation or raindrops on the trees, slowly descending downward. The association with crying is evident. It appears as if tears are welling up from the foliage, trickling down the branches, transforming the Dommel into a veritable valley of tears.
