A familiar guest at GLOW: the Wishing Factory. Over the past twenty years, this interactive light artwork has been featured no fewer than three times, including once before in the beautiful Paterskerk of DOMUSDELA.

Churches have traditionally offered space for silence, reflection, and connection. A place to pause, to reflect on yourself as well as on others. To feel grounded, to land, and to realize what truly matters.

The Wishing Factory invites you to do exactly that: to think of yourself, of someone else, or of the world around you; to light a candle, or to have your wish projected in large letters on the wall. Because you wish someone strength, or peace. Or simply, because you are thinking of another person.

By lighting a candle, you immediately do something for someone else—both symbolically and in practice. The €2.50 you pay goes directly to residents of Eindhoven living below the poverty line.

About the artist

Rotary Club Eindhoven Eeckaerde & Har Hollands

The Wishing Factory is an initiative of Rotary Club Eindhoven Eeckaerde and light architect Har Hollands.

Light architect Har Hollands runs a lighting design studio based in Eindhoven and works on the international market. From his studio, he creates architectural light effects and composes lighting environments, both for building exteriors and interiors. He also designs lighting for shopping centers, public spaces, historic sites, industrial heritage, monuments, and civil engineering works such as tunnels. Finally, he creates autonomous light installations that make full use of the poetic, dramatic, and magical power of light.

Rotary Club Eindhoven Eeckaerde consists of forty members from the Eindhoven region. Rotary is an international organization with local branches all over the world. Its members dedicate themselves to improving people’s well-being by developing projects—such as this one, during GLOW.
