A radiant start to GLOW: Ronald Ramakers receives Silver Tulip
Eindhoven, 8 November 2025 – A special prelude to the opening of GLOW tonight!
This anniversary edition of the light art festival not only marks 20 years of light, art and connection in the Eindhoven region, but also a personal milestone. For director Ronald Ramakers, this will be his final GLOW. After ten years of dedication, vision and growth, he will hand over the reins to Philip Ross at the end of this edition.
As a token of appreciation for his years of commitment and for putting the City of Light on the (inter)national map, Ronald was presented last night – at the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven – with a Silver Tulip by FRITS. This special award honours residents who have made a positive contribution to the Eindhoven region. The Silver Tulip symbolises creativity, engagement and innovation – values that also lie at the heart of GLOW.
Ronald has helped GLOW grow into a world-class festival that connects people through light and imagination. His passion and love for light art have made Eindhoven shine – both literally and figuratively. And his final edition will be one to remember: with more than 35 light artworks along the route, returning audience favourites and spectacular new installations – including those at Stadhuisplein – Ronald lets the light of GLOW shine brighter than ever before.
Ronald Ramakers: “The most beautiful farewell I could wish for is a city that shines together.”
Here’s to a week filled with light, pride and connection.
