In February, the first GLOW academy took place at the TU/e Auditorium. Six studentteams from TU/e, SSRE and SiNTLUCAS joined this GLOW kick off. We introduced the new theme The Beat and inspired the groups to think outside the box. Light artist Gijs van Bon explained the thoughts behind his works (Ping, Streamed, Drop of light) and made everybody enthusiastic with his expansion drift. London, Brussels, his works travels all over the continent.

Jasper van Wey, event manager light and lector at SiNT LUCAS took us with him to the ambitious project of Rainbow at the Vesteda tower (GLOW 21 and 22). Dream big and start planning. Make the impossible possible. His learning curve was ’the beauty of imperfection’: although not all floors cooperated on this project the imperfection was what made Rainbow a true statement: be who you are!

First student groups shared their concepts and we are looking forward to the next GLOW academy on 27 March where also students from Fontys, Summa College and Design Academy will join. This is what we call ’the city makes GLOW, YOU make GLOW’. The engine for disruptive, innovative, happy and sustainable cooperations.
