Light Dome

Last year, the ongoing project ‘Lichtkoepel’ by Eindhoven light architect Har Hollands was first seen in its raw form at the Heuvel shopping center. This year, we witness the completed light installation as originally conceived.

With this quality improvement, the owner of Heuvel, CBRE Global Investors, is making Eindhoven even more attractive as a shopping city. It demonstrates vision that they chose a permanent light installation under the grand dome of the Forum in the city of lights, Eindhoven.

Lichtkoepel consists of 121 light-transmitting tubes, each suspended on a cable and capable of being positioned at various heights through a motor. This cable also conducts electricity to power the numerous LED lights in each tube, creating a palette of colors. Sound from 8 speakers enhances the spatial effect. A central control system ensures that all movements, light, and sound effects are synchronized to achieve a cohesive spectacle.
