Light Market

The Light Market only sells a single product: lamps. Desk lamps, standard lamps, night lights, torches, spotlights, atmospheric lighting, hanging lamps. All these lamps have been collected by the recycled goods shop Het Goed and are keen to find a new owner during GLOW.

This pop-up market will be on the Stadhuisplein, next to Wall Street; Eindhoven’s centre for cultural economic research. Artists Maassen and Craens (also joint-initiators of Wall Street) work on the cutting edge of the art world and economic reality. Is a market possible for art and can art adopt the form of a functional market? You be the judge. And remember to come and have a poke around at what is on offer.

About the artist

Lucas Maassen & Margriet Craens

Lucas Maassen (Eindhoven, 1975) lives and works in Eindhoven. He studied at Design Academy Eindhoven and since then has started his career as an independent conceptual designer. His work has been exhibited in museums all over the world such as MoMA New York, Grand Palais Paris, Vitra Design Museum Weil am Rhein, Taiwan Design Museum Taipei and the van Abbemuseum Eindhoven.

Margriet Craens (Eersel ,1988) lives and works in Eindhoven. After studying Dutch literature in Amsterdam and Fine Art in ‘s Hertogenbosch, she works as a artist within the fields of art, design and cooking. Since graduating she participated in several exhibitions in the Netherlands, Thailand, Germany and the USA.
