Timing

Timing

On the Kennedyplein and the surrounding buildings, a carpet of words appears in white and blue letters, partially overlapping each other. These terms in various languages refer to the passage of time and movement through space. Mist rising from various machines captures the light, making the projection three-dimensional and almost tangible. Even visitors walking across the square become part of the installation.

The experience of time and space is highly subjective and context-dependent. A few minutes may sometimes fly by, while other times, they may seem to last an eternity. With Timing, Geist attempts to visualize the ever-changing and elusive meaning of these concepts. The installation is particularly fitting next to the bus station, where traveling and waiting shape our actions and behavior.
