GLOW has been captivating audiences with light art for around 18 years, evolving into one of the world’s most attended light art festivals, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Despite this massive influx of visitors, not everyone has the opportunity to attend the festival, including the children of Dream4Kids who, due to trauma, are unable to attend during regular opening hours. In collaboration with Dream4Kids, GLOW organized an evening exclusively for these children, allowing them to experience the festival as true VIPs.

On Friday, November 10, a day before the official start of GLOW, a VIP preview was arranged for a group of 40 children who were the first to enjoy the enchanting light artworks. In a unique way, escorted by fire trucks and police cars, the children traversed a section of the GLOW route. Deputy Mayor Rik Thijs welcomed them at the Paterskerk, where they admired the children’s project ‘I Spy, With My Little Eye…’ by Hugo Vrijdag. The evening concluded with a small treat and a gift from Signify, leaving the children with lasting memories of a magical night.

This collaboration between GLOW and Dream4Kids aimed to bring joy and wonder to children facing challenges that prevent them from attending the festival. Through this VIP evening, the transformative power of art and connection takes center stage, ensuring that light art is made accessible to everyone.
