EDEN

TAC, Eindhoven

A refreshing walk through the woods or the dunes. A wildflower meadow where you can simply lie down. A moment of solitude among trees and shrubs. All of this is possible—for now. But what happens when this natural world is no longer available? What if we only have access to artificial forms of nature? This is the future scenario explored by Team IGNITE in their project, EDEN. Step inside and join the investigation.

Behind a decrepit wall you’ll see fading images of nature as we know it today. In front of it, images of artificial greenery flicker. As you approach the wall, the displays on it gradually become transparent. The flowers behind them glow brightly—a greeting of bloom and growth from a distant past. In this way, EDEN offers a compelling look at the connection between humanity and nature. After all, sometimes you only truly realize what you are missing once it is—at least for a while—no longer there.
