Visit the Like Insects installation during GLOW and experience for yourself this exciting collaboration between Summa Fashion, Fontys Technology, and fashion designer Anouk Wipprecht.

Become part of this installation for a moment and move slowly through a subtly lit landscape of water lilies. Do you see the moth and the firefly? That’s right; the hidden beauty and intelligence of insects served as a major source of inspiration for the futuristic fashion you’ll encounter along the way.

Please note: this isn’t just any fashion collection. It’s the result of extensive research into ways to translate electronics, sensors, and interactive lighting into wearable fashion. Students asked themselves: can fashion and tech inspire wonder, foster encounters, and create connections? You can see the result here, at the Bijenkorf. Did the students succeed? GLOW Talent Awards

These students created their work over the past year at the GLOW Academy: the place where young talent gets the chance to turn creative ideas into reality. All students are participating in the GLOW Talent Award. In this competition, student teams compete for the coveted audience award and jury award. As a member of the audience, you can vote and help ensure that one of these teams gets the opportunity to further develop their project, along with a valuable cash prize. Cast your vote too! Summa Fashion, Fontys Technology & Anouk Wipprecht

This work was conceived and created by a group of students from SintLucas, a specialized school for creative talent. Students from various fields of study collaborated on this project. Given their different schedules, this required careful coordination—and they succeeded. In this way, the students demonstrate in practice what their artwork conveys: collaboration often yields the most beautiful results.
