For “Orbite,” Öff Öff Production designed a seventeen-meter-high steel installation with two rotating wings. Six dancers move across the otherworldly contraption, seemingly defying gravity. Gracefully, they climb and step onto the structure, which unexpectedly starts rotating at times. The dancers glide through the air, constantly seeking a new balance between their own bodies, those of others, and the structure.
The possibilities of lighting are optimally utilized. When one side of the wings is covered with cloth, it creates a shadow play. At other times, the light produces fairy-tale-like images. Electronic music connects the elements into a performance that captivates the audience for a full hour.
