The typical Eindhoven resident. yes, we all have a sense of what that means. But what exactly defines that ‘Eindhovenaar’? A good question, according to artist Daan van der Linden, who set out to explore the topic. In his quest, he portrayed notable Eindhoven residents in oil paint. Each and every one of them has a special connection to the city. On the surface, they may seem different, but at heart they have an awful lot in common: Eindhoven blood flows through their veins.

Thanks to the vivid colors and the intense atmosphere, the oil portraits stand out from a distance. Daan enlarged the original paintings to massive proportions in high resolution and illuminated the works from within. The craftsmanship, the materials, and the technique practically leap off the canvas. As a viewer, you can hardly help but stare at them in awe. And, do you see it?
